    NAEA TASK
    The first TASK Party at the National Art Educators Association conference, this year in New York, NY.
    Organized by: Art21, School Arts Magazine, ArtED 2.0, and the NAEA

    March -April 2012
    I heard from at least a dozen new TASK Parties since NAEA TASK, most but not all of them in class rooms.

    Among them at ArtPace in San Antonio, TX, where TASK was incorporated into Family Day (around 850 visitors and participants);
    and Philips Exeter Academy, in NH, where plans are on the way to organize a large TASK Party for the entire school (around 1000).

Tasks

Tasks is a compilation of all the written tasks salvaged during recent Task Parties and Events.

Depending on the venue, many tasks were lost or destroyed and in some cases, such as at Task at UMD (Univ. of Maryland), we had no infrastructure in place to salvage tasks at all. TASKS therefore is a comprehensive sampling of tasks conceived and executed.

  1. [...] Full lists of former tasks can be found on Oliver’s website. [...]

  2. I teach Global Studies with 4 other teachers. We are starting an unit on SE Asia. As the art teacher I’m thinking a task party might be a good way to blend research and art. Any suggestions?
